Borjas Leads Pirates on All-WSC North Division Squad

Pirate outfielder Henry Borjas led a contingent of Pirates who were named to the All-Western State Conference North Division baseball team for the 2025 season. The sophomore from Rio Mesa High School earned a first team All-WSC nod for his play during the season and was also awarded a Gold Glove award as one o fthe conference's top defenders at his position.Caden Stillwell and Matthew Ramirez each were named second team all-conference.

VC Routs Oxnard in Shutout Win

The Ventura College baseball team turned in a dominant performance Saturday, defeating Oxnard 11-0. Frederico Tiburtini was 3-3 on the day with four runs batted in and a run scored to lead the effort at the plate while Jacob Roa scattered six hits over eight innings of work on the mound, striking out four while shutting out the Condors. Victor Tostado struck out two in a perfect ninth inning to close out the victory. Caden Stillwell and Grant Rodriguez each pounded out three hits and scored three runs in Ventura's 16-hit performance.

The VC baseball team honored retired coach Don Adams Saturday at Pirate Park, then proceeded to complete a sweep of rival Moorpark 19-5. Tommy Castaneda had a single and a double, knocking in three runs and scoring three more while Caden Stillwell also had a pair of hits, including a double, with three RBI and two runs scored. Jacob Roa pitched into the sixth inning, giving up two runs and scattering six hits while fanning four Raiders to pick up the win.

Baseball Drops Double-Header at Riverside

The VC baseball team dropped a pair of games in a doubleheader at Riverside City College Saturday afternoon, 4-1 and 11-2. Grant Rodriguez had a pair of hits with a run batted in in the twin bill while Hector Pina also had two hits. Jacob Roa pitched six innings and gave up two earned runs in the opener taking the hard luck loss and Jacob Tostado yielded three earned runs over five frames in the nightcap.

Baseball Outlasts Compton in Home Opener

The VC baseball team outlasted Compton Thursday at Pirate Park, claiming a 13-11 victory over the Tartars. Daniel Aguilar and Henry Borjas each had a pair of hits and two runs batted in while Jacob Tostado also knocked in a pair of runs. Austin Kurr pitched the final four innings to pick up the win on the mound for Ventrua (1-1).
