Ventura Golf Third at WSC-Antelope Valley

After a disappointing performance a week ago, the Pirate golf team rebounded nicely, placing third at the Western State Conference event at Antelope Valley Country Club Monday. The Pirates posted a team score of 395, coming behind league-leading Canyons at 372 and just behind Santa Barbara with a 302. Zack Garboski led Ventura with a 3-over 75 to tie for fourth individually while AJ Ryland was tied for seventh with a 5-over 77.

Elijah Delsi turned in an 80 for the Pirates and Joshua Calderon came in a stroke behind with an 81. Jonas Slattum carded an 82 for VC while Nicolai Cascione shot an 87.

With the third place finish, Ventura moves back into third in the WSC standings through four events.

The Pirates will next travel to the WSC Neutral Site match and Southern California Preview on Monday March 20.
