Men's Tennis Sweeps Grossmont For Second Win of the Season

Following a win over Riverside College the Pirate men's tennis team pulled a 9-0 sweep over Grossmont College. Five different Pirates played both doubles and singles and collected wins as VC improved to 2-0 on the season. Guenter Newman and Michael Burr both improved to undefeated on the season.

The Pirates won all of their match ups on the doubles and singles side of the match with Grossmont. Hironori Koyanagi and Corey Karen both picked up wins on the singles and doubles side of the match. Leonardo Santos and Diego Rodrigues both collected their first wins of the season on the singles side of the match up.

The win sets the Pirates up for their Western State Conference North opener against Santa Barbara City College on Thursday Feb. 18 at 2:00 pm. They will then play again on Tuesday Feb. 23 at Glendale College for another WSC match up.
