VC's Fall Sports Returns to Competition

Ventura College's fall sports return to competition on Friday August 27. When the Pirate volleyball team takes the court against Monterey Peninsula at 12:30 pm in the LA Mission Kickoff Classic it will mark the Pirates' first official fall sports contest in 21 months. The VC women's soccer team opens its 2021 season on Sunday Aug. 29 at Mt. San Antonio College beginning a full week of games in Pirate Athletics' return.

After its opener on Sunday, the Pirate soccer team will open Ventura's 2021-22 home schedule on Thursday Sept. 2 against Golden West at the VC Sportsplex at 8:00 pm, finishing the first day of the New Balance Community College Showcase.  They return to the Sportsplex on Saturday Sept. 4 for an 11:00 am contest against West Valley College. Pirate volleyball, meanwhile, plays four matches in Sylmar Friday and Saturday and travels to Pasadena on Wednesday Sept. 1 before making their home debut Wednesday Sept. 8 against Orange Coast at 5:00 pm in the Athletic Event Center. See VC Women's Volleyball Schedule

The Pirate football team opens its 2021 campaign with the 53rd installment of the Citrus Cup game at Moorpark College. VC has won 12 straight games in the intra-county rivalry and looks to continue the streak in a 7:00 pm contest at Griffin Stadium.  Ventura returns to the Sportsplex on Saturday Sept. 11 in a 4:00 pm match-up against San Diego Mesa. Ventura's women's water polo team begins its season with an alumnae scrimmage on Saturday Aug. 28 at 1:00 pm at the Ventura Aquatic Center. They open the regular season on Friday Sept. 3 at Saddleback College with a pair of games. Their home opener is Thursday Sept. 9 against Cerritos at 2:00 pm. See VC Women's Water Polo Schedule

The men's water polo team will host its alumni scrimmage on Saturday Sept. 4 at 1:00 pm before traveling to the Cesar Chavez Tournament at Southwestern College in Chula Vista on Sept. 10 and 11. Their home opener is Wednesday Oct. 6 against Citrus at 2:00 pm at the Ventura Aquatic Center. See VC Men's Water Polo Schedule

Finally, the Pirates' men's  cross country teams will start their year Saturday Sept. 4 at the Fresno Invitational while the women return to action Sept. 17 at the SoCal Preview. See Men's and Women's Cross Country Schedule

There will be a few changes due to the COVID-19 situation for Pirate fans at home contests in 2021-22. Admission to football, soccer and volleyball games will be completely cashless, and fans can purchase tickets online (https://ventura.vbotickets.com/events). 

The Ventura County Community College District mandates that masks be worn indoors by vaccinated and unvaccinated guests and also encourages mask wearing outdoors on campus as well.  Also, spectators are asked to complete a short health questionnaire online (https://campuscloud.readyeducation.com/#/cb/web-form/2xQgbUG0dbt-dAfvqGTPQg/start) on on their cell phone before coming to campus to watch the games.

QR codes to log on to the health questionnaire and to purchase tickets will both be available at the entrances to the Sportsplex and Athletic Event Center.
