Baylany Magana, Pirate Softball - Week of April 7
The Pirate softball team took a pair of huge steps into the driver's seat in the Western State Conference North Division race last week, both on the right arm of first-year pitcher Baylany Magana. The Oxnard High School product pitched two key victories over Santa Barbara and Cuesta, respectively, throwing 13 innings over the two games, giving up a combined two hits and one run with 14 strikeouts. Additionally, she had a pair of hits at the plate with three runs batted in and two runs scored against the Vaqueros and Cougars.
