The Pirate bats ran and hid on Saturday, as Los Angeles Pierce College came to Pirate Park and left with a 12-1 victory. Ventura (5-13, 1-5) managed just five hits on the day, scoring in the seventh inning when Brian Magana singled with one out, and David Newland followed that with a two-out double. Michael Volaski, Harrison Crawford and Bradley Fullerton also singled for VC in the game. Logen Letofsky was the first of 10 Pirate pitchers to see action on the day.

Ventura travels to San Luis Obispo on Tuesday March 18 to take on Cuesta College before returning to Pirate Park on Thursday March 20 to conclude the two-game set with the Cougars. Both games are set to start at 2:30 pm.
