Pirates Drop Pitcher's Duel at Saddleback in 10 innings
In an old-fashioned pitcher's duel, the Pirate baseball team dropped a 2-1 decision in 10 innings against Saddleback Tuesday. VC's Daniel Morge and Alex Villacana combined to scatter eight hits over 9.2 innings against the Bobcats, yielding two runs, one earned. The pair sturck out four and walked one in the contest. Grant Rodriguez provided the lone run for Ventrua with a solo shot in the fourth inning.

Morge made the start for the Pirates, pitching five complete innings while giving up an unearned run in the bottom of the second inning. He gave up just two hits and struck out one with a walk in the no-decision.
Rodriguez produced the equalizer with a solo shot in the top of the fourth to tie the game at 1-1
Villacana took over in the sixth inning, and pitched through the 10th frame before giving up a two-out, walk-off RBI double to right center. He scattered six hits through 4.2 innings of work while striking out three.
Ventura (2-1) will return home on Friday Jan. 30 to take on El Camino in the first of a two-game home-and-home set with the Warriors. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 pm at Pirate Park.
