Flag Football Drops Close Decision at Saddleback
The VC flag football team had a solid defensive effort Wednesday at Saddleback, but could not generate enough offense in their 15-12 setback. Tanaya Moreno and Honest Watson each scored touchdowns for the Pirates and Sami Nava grabbed an interception for the Pirates.

The VC flag football team had a solid defensive effort Wednesday at Saddleback, but could not generate enough offense in their 15-12 setback. Tanaya Moreno and Honest Watson each scored touchdowns for the Pirates and Sami Nava grabbed an interception for the Pirates.
Moreno found paydirt in the first quarter on a pass from April Luna. Meanwhile, Watson received a pass from Sophia Moran for six points. The PAT on both touchdowns was unsuccessful.
Unfortunately, the Ventura offense was unable to generate more scoring, stalling out twice inside the 10-yard line.
Nava led a solid effort by the VC defense, tracking down an interception for the Pirates.
The Pirates next travel to Cal Lutheran on Wednesday Feb. 18 for a 3:00 pm contest with the Regals.
