MBB Struggles at Irvine
Nothing went right Thursday night for the Pirates' men's basketball team as they dropped their first game in the Irvine Valley Tournament to Long Beach City 88-73. Ventura (3-2) shot a season worst 36 percent from the field (24-65), and 12 percent from behind the arc (3-25). VC also gave up 47 rebounds to the Vikings, including 20 offensive boards. Forward Anthony Morman scored 20 points on 6-8 shooting and grabbed nine rebounds while guard Ivan Dooley added 11 points and five boards. Guard Jalen Young netted 17 points, as well.

The Pirates look to bounce back Friday Nov. 22 at 3:00 pm in the tournament's consolation semifinal against Imperial Valley.
