Smith, Wigington Earn All-State Honors
VC men's basketball standouts Jerimiyah Smith and Snookey Wigington have been named first team All-State by the California Community College Men's Basketball Coaches Association. Smith, who was also tabbed as the Western State Conference North Division Most Outstanding Player, and Wigington, who earned forst team All-WSC accolades, led VC to a 25-5 overall record and the WSC North championship during the 2025-26 season.

Smith, a sophomore out of Rancho Cucamonga, was dominant all season, averaging 20.1 points per game and adding 9.7 rebounds. He shot an amazing 63.6 percent from the floor, 38.6 percent from beyond the 3-point line, and 68.3 percent from the free throw line. He ranked seventh in the state in scoring, 14th in field goal percentage and 15th in rebounding.
Wigington, meanwhile, anchored the Pirate attack from his point guard position, handing out 7.3 assists per outing, which ranked fourth in the state. The sophomore from Los Angeles also contributed 16.2 points per game and pulled in 2.2 steals each contest, ranking him 16th in California. He also slashed 43.4/36.6/81.6 shooting during the season.
The Pirates were seeded No. 4 in the 3C2A Southern California Regionals, advancing to the regional finals in 2026.
