M Tennis Defeats Bakersfield

The VC men's tennis team captured its first victory of the young season with a6-3 triumph over visiting Bakersfield College at Camino Real park Tuesday afternoon. Victor Mendes won his No. 1 singles in straight sets before teaming up with Matheus Montero to win in No. 1 doubles. Arthur Da Silva won his No. 5 singles match love and love while Victor Dos Santos (No. 4) and Dylan Forster (No. 6) also won in singles. Dos Santos and Foster also won their No. 3 doubles match for the Pirates (1-2, 1-1).

VC sophomore Vitor Mendes made the state semifinals in singles and teamed up with Victor Dos Santos to qualify for the elite eight in doubles at the CCCAA State Championships over the weekend at The Ojai Tournament.

MEN'S TENNIS:  The VC men's tennis team captured its first victory of the young season with a6-3 triumph over visiting Bakersfield College at Camino Real park Tuesday afternoon. Victor Mendes won his No. 1 singles in straight sets before teaming up with Matheus Montero to win in No. 1 doubles. Arthur Da Silva won his No. 5 singles match love and love while Victor Dos Santos (No. 4) and Dylan Forster (No. 6) also won in singles. Ventura hosts Los Angeles Pierce College on Thursday March 6 at 2:00 pm at the VC Tennis Center before taking on San Diego Mesa in a non-conference match on Saturday at 12:00 pm, also at VC.
