The Pirates' men's tennis team took over the top spot in the Western State Conference standings Tuesday with a 7-2 victory over Glendale at the VC Tennis Center. Lucas Abreau, Julian Tellez and Edgar Ploquin were all double-winners for VC (6-3, 2-0).

The Pirates battled but fell short against Menlo College 6-1 before dropping a contest at Fresno Pacific, 7-0. Cody Ray Emery won his No. 1 singles match against Menlo on Monday while Lucas Abreau and Thomas Lindner won at No. 2 doubles at FPU. Rafael Matias and Abreau both went the distance in their singles matches on Monday and Tuesday, respectively.
