VC's No. 1 doubles team of Caua Coimbra and Abladj Mondroha have been named 3C2A All-Americans by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. The pair are coming off the 2026 season in which they finished as state runner-up at The Ojai Tournament in late April.
Coimbra, who came to VC from Araras, SP, Brazil, and Mondroha, a native of Mayotte, France, posted an overall record of 15-13 on the year in their No. 1 doubles slot, but much of that competition was against 4-year schools. They won their first 10 matches against community college competition before injuries affected their play as the regular season came to a close. They rebounded nicely, however, to win five straight matches at The Ojai before falling in the 3C2A State Championship match.
"The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) is happy to honor the Junior College men's tennis student-athletes who have earned ITA All-American honors for the 2025-26 college tennis season," read a press release by the national organization. "These honorees include student-athletes from both the NJCAA as well as the 3C2A in both singles and doubles."
"The criteria for ITA All-American singles honors are finishing in the top ten of the final ITA National Singles Rankings. All-American recognition is awarded to doubles teams who finish in the top five of the final ITA National Doubles Rankings."
