The VC men;s water polo team had three players earn first team All-Western State Conference awards in voting by the conference coaches. Owen Patterson, Evan Augusta and Thomas Shea all earned first-team All-WSC accolades for Ventura.

With their 15-12 victory over Citrus in the thrid-place game of the Western State Conference Tournament, the Pirates finish their season with a 13-13 overall mark, the program's best finish since 2016. Evan Augusta led the inspired effort with four goals while Samuel Abarca, Michael Soho and Brayden Black all scored twice in the win.Stephen McNaughten turned in 10 saves in the cage for Ventura.
The VC men's water polo team dropped a pair of contests Friday at the Día de los Muertos Tournament at Southwestern College in Chula Vista. VC fell to Palomar 13-9 in the opener before dropping a 22-13 decision against Grossmont in the nightcap. Owen Patterson scored 11 goals on the day and Evan Augusta added five scores for Ventura (10-11 (2-2)).
The Ventura College men's water polo team defeated Citrus 17-8 Wednesday to secure the No. 3 seed in next week's Western State Conference Tournament, hosted by the Pirates. Owen Patterson scored five goals and drew three exclusions to lead VC (10-9, 2-2) and Brayden Black netted four scores. Thomas Shea and Evan Augusta each scored twice in the game while Ethan Ortiz and Stephen McNaughten recorded seven and five saves in goal, respectively.
