Pirates Drop Two at Mt. SAC
In a make-up of an earlier rain-out, the Pirate softball team traveled to Walnut and dropped a pair of games to Mt. San Antonio College Friday evening, 7-4 and 8-0. Veronica Garcia registered three hits on the night, including a pair of doubles, with a run scored and an RBI while Ashley Cerda and Emily Heath also collected two hits, each. Ashley Cerda and Ashley Thorp each recorded an extra-base hit for VC (18-17-1, 9-4).

Veronica Garcia led the way for Ventura with two hits, including a double, with one RBI and a run scored. Ashley Cerda had two hits with an RBI and Emily Heath had a pair of hits while scoring a run. Sabrina Cerda collected a double with an RBI and Olivia Hernandez also knocked in a run fo rthe Pirates. Ashley Thorp doubled and scored.
Ventura 0, Mt. San Antonio 8
The Pirates managed just two hits in the nightcap. Veronica Garcia had a double and Alex Thorp singled in the five-inning contest.
The Pirates return for their final two home dates of the 2014 season in the next week, a double header against Santa Barbara on Tuesday April 15 and a single contest against Los Angeles Pierce on Thursday April 17. The games begin at 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm against the Vaqueros and at 2:30 pm with the Brahmas.
