Softball Closes Season with Victory

The Pirate softball team closed he 2024 season with a bang, posting a 14-3 triumph at Santa Monica Tuesday afternoon. Savanna Higgins had a double and a triple with a run scored and two runs batted in and Jennie Jacinto had three hits and a walk with one RBI and three runs scored. Chelsea Trejo allowed three runs, one earned, over seven innings worked in the pitcher's circle for Ventura, who finished the season with seven wins in their final 13 games.

Pirate Softball Continues Roll at LA Valley

The VC softball team continued their roll Friday with a 15-5 six-inning win at Los Angeles Valley, the Pirates' fifth win in their past seven games. Victoria Rodrigues came on as a pinch hitter in the top of the sixth and had two hits and three runs batted in while Savannah Higgins recorded two hits, including a home run, with three runs scored and three RBI.

The Ventura College softball team raced to a 13-0 five-inning victory over Los Angeles Pierce Thursday at the VC Softball Complex. Jennie Jacinto had three hits, including a double, and scored twice and Kaliona Hernandez recorded a pair of hits with two runs scored. Alyssa Jacinto also had a pair of hits and a run batted in while Kiara Harrison totaled three RBI in the game on two hits while scoring a pair of runs. Chelsea Trejo hit a two-run home run and also pitched a complete game to pick up the win.

The Ventura College softball team kept the game close Tuesday, but could not get anything going offensively in their 4-0 setback against Santa Barbara at the VC Softball Complex. Alexyss Campos and Chelsea Trejo each had hits for the Pirates Trejo also had a solid pitching effort, scattering nine hits over seven innings in keeping VC close to the Vaqueros.

Savanna Higgins had a great day leading the Pirate softball team to an 8-5 victory over visiting Chaffey Wednesday. The VC shortstop was 2-4 with an RBI single and a 3-run home run in back-to-back innings to lead Ventura to the triumph. Pitcher Chelsea Trejo navigated through a 15-hit Chaffey offensive attack, allowing five runs to pick up the win in the circle.

The Pirate softball team dropped a decision to visiting Citrus Monday in a make-up game at the VC Softball Complex, the first of four games this week for VC. Jennie Jacinto, Jade Loeffler, Alyssa Jacinto and Kaliona Hernandez all had hits for Ventura in the game.

Softball Falls Twice at East Los Angeles

The Pirate softball team dropped a heartbreaker in extra innings to host East Los Angeles Saturday before falling to Fullerton in the nightcap of their two-game day in Monterey Park. Savanna Higgins had a pair of hits with a run scored and two runs batted in for Ventura and Jade Loeffler recorded two hits with an RBI. Chelsea Trejo and Kaliona Hernandez also registered two hits each on the day.

Ventura Falls at Home Against Antelope Valley

The Ventura College softball team dropped a 15-7 decision against Antelope Valley Thursday at the VC Softball Complex. Jennie Jacinto was 2-4 on the day with a run scored and a run batted in while sister Alyssa Jcinto also had a pair of hits with an RBI. Savanna Higgins hit an RBI triple for VC and Alexyss Campos recorded a pair of runs batted in.

Pirate Softball Makes 2024 Home Debut

After nine straight games on the road, the Pirate softball team made their inaugural appearance at the VC Softball Complex, falling to Pasadena City College 10-1. Jennie Jacinto led Ventura with three hits in the game while Savanna Higgins and Jade Loeffler also recorded hits in the game. Kiara Harrison scored VC's lone runs, sent home by Raylene Reyes.

Softball Falls in Walk-Off at Victor Valley

The Pirate softball team dropped a 9-8 decision in walk-off fashion Wednesday afternoon at Victor Valley College in Victorville. Savanna Higgins led the VC attack with a 4-4 day, including a double, triple and walk with one runs scored and one run batted in and Alyssa Jacinto also had a 4-4 day with a double and an RBI. Raylene Reyes hit a single and a double with an RBI and a run scored while Alexyss Campos had a pair of hits with three runs scored and one RBI.
