Jacobus, Montano Shine for Pirates at State Meet

VC sophomore Ayden Jacobus and freshman Ella Montano each turned in outstanding performances at the 3C2A State Swimming & Diving Championships Thursday through Saturday at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa. Jacobus was named the Co-Men's Diver of the Year with a gold and a silver medal while Montano placed in three events, each in the A-Final. Freshman Wyatt Dingman also placed in both diving events for Ventura at the championships.

VC Completes WSC Championships with Strong Performances

The VC men's and women's swimming and diving teams produced more strong performances Saturday to conclude the Western State Conference Championships at the Ventura Aquatic Center. Ella Montano claimed her second gold medal of the meet Saturday while Nick Santander won silver. Michael Soho and Luigi Trave each claimed bronze medals Saturday to lead the VC men to a second place team finish. The Pirate women came in fourth in the championships.

Pirates Continue Strong Performances at WSC Finals

The VC men's and women's swimming and diving teams continued to produced strong performances Friday on the second day of the Western State Conference Championships at the Ventura Aquatic Center. Ella Montano won gold in the 100-yard breast stroke while Cameron Habib and Nick Santander each claimed silver in the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke events, respectively.

VC Men 2nd, Women 4th After Day 1 of WSC Finals

The Ventura College men's and women's swimming and diving teams are hosting the Western State Conference Championships with the men in second place and the women in fourth after the first of three days of competition at the Ventura Aquatic Center. Michael Soho and Ella Montano led their respective teams, each earning individual silver medals while swimming legs on two different relay teams for the Pirates.

Ventura Men Capture WSC #1, Women 3rd

The Pirates' men's and women's swimming and diving teams had a solid performance Friday at the Western State Conference No. 1 meet at Santa Monica Friday with the men winning the five-team competition and the women coming in third. Cameron Habib led the VC men with a pair of gold medal performances while Elle Montano also finished first in a pair of individual events. Luigi Travi, Merrick Giles and Michael Soho also won events for the men.

Pirate freshman Wyatt Dingman claimed the gold medal in the 1m diving event during the WSC Larry Baratte Invitational Saturday. Dingman and Ella Montano both produced first place finishes for Ventura in the meet.
Pirates' Swim & Dive Teams Open '24 at Larry Baratte Invite

The Ventura College men's and women's swimming and diving teams opened their 2024 season Saturday hosting the Western State Conference Larry Baratte Invitational at the Ventura Aquatic Center. Wyatt Dingman and Ella Montano both produced gold medal performances to lead the way for VC. The Pirate men finished fourth out of nine competing teams while the Ventura women were fifth of 10 teams.
