VC Completes WSC Championships with Strong Performances

The VC men's and women's swimming and diving teams produced more strong performances Saturday to conclude the Western State Conference Championships at the Ventura Aquatic Center. Ella Montano claimed her second gold medal of the meet Saturday while Nick Santander won silver. Michael Soho and Luigi Trave each claimed bronze medals Saturday to lead the VC men to a second place team finish. The Pirate women came in fourth in the championships.

Pirates Continue Strong Performances at WSC Finals

The VC men's and women's swimming and diving teams continued to produced strong performances Friday on the second day of the Western State Conference Championships at the Ventura Aquatic Center. Ella Montano won gold in the 100-yard breast stroke while Cameron Habib and Nick Santander each claimed silver in the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke events, respectively.

VC Men 2nd, Women 4th After Day 1 of WSC Finals

The Ventura College men's and women's swimming and diving teams are hosting the Western State Conference Championships with the men in second place and the women in fourth after the first of three days of competition at the Ventura Aquatic Center. Michael Soho and Ella Montano led their respective teams, each earning individual silver medals while swimming legs on two different relay teams for the Pirates.

Ventura Swimmers & Divers Compete at PCC Invitational

The Pirates' men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed at the Pasadena Invitational held at East Los Angeles College Thursday through Saturday with the men placing third of nine teams and the women coming in seventh of 10. Carlos Gonzalez scored in four individual events for the VC men and Sarah Glassman led the Pirate women scoring in five individual events.

Pirate Swimmers Travel to NorCal for Miyashiro Invite

Ventura's men's and women's swimming and diving teams made the trek to Northern California for the weekend to compete in the Bob Miyashiro Invitational at San Rosa Junior College. Ayden Jacobus led the men's effort winning the 1m and 3m diving events while Carlos Gonzalez scored in three individual races. Cassidy Yanca was tops for the women scoring in two individual events and Sarah Glassman placed in both diving competitions.

VC's 200-yard freestyle quartet of (standing, L to R) Michael Soho, Nick Santander, Merrick Giles and Cameron Habib (in water) won their event by 6.85 seconds Friday at the WSC No. 1 meet at Santa Monica, less than a second off the school record.
Ventura Men Capture WSC #1, Women 3rd

The Pirates' men's and women's swimming and diving teams had a solid performance Friday at the Western State Conference No. 1 meet at Santa Monica Friday with the men winning the five-team competition and the women coming in third. Cameron Habib led the VC men with a pair of gold medal performances while Elle Montano also finished first in a pair of individual events. Luigi Travi, Merrick Giles and Michael Soho also won events for the men.
