Shea, Anguita and Williams Qualify for State at SoCal Diving
Ventura's Thomas Shea and Daniel Anguita qualified for the 3C2A State Championships for the men and Alexandria Williams qualified for the Pirate women in bot the 1m and 3m diving events at the Western Satte Conference and Southern California Championships Friday at Cypress. Shea led the effort placing fourth in the 1m and third in the 3m dives in the region, respectively, while claiming the WSC title in both events.

Shea led the effort placing fourth in the 1m and third in the 3m dives in the region, respectively, while claiming the WSC title in both events.
Shea totaled 187.65 points in his six dives in the 3m competition to win gold in the conference and bronze in Southern California. Anguita, meanwhile, was second in the WSC and seventh in the region at 3m.
Shea also claimed first for the conference in the 1m event with a total of 178.05 points which was also good for fourth in the region. Anguita claimed another silver in the WSC and placed eighth in the region.
Williams won a pair of silver medals for the WSC competition with her six dives in both the 1m and 3m events, finishing second and third, respectively, in the regional standings to claim her state berth in both.
The VC men's and women's swim teams will compete t the WSC Championships Thursday-Saturday, Apr. 16-18 at Los Angeles Valley. The 3C2A State Championships will be held Apr. 30-May 2 at Orange Coast.
