Women's Soccer Falls at Hancock
The VC women's soccer team traveled to Allan Hancock College Tuesday and the Pirates had their three-game winning streak come to an end against the Bulldogs. Jazzy Moreno scored Ventura's lone goal on the day in the team's first Western State Conference setback of the season.

The VC women's soccer team traveled to Allan Hancock College Tuesday and the Pirates had their three-game winning streak come to an end against the Bulldogs. Jazzy Moreno scored Ventura's lone goal on the day in the team's first Western State Conference setback of the season.
Hancock jumped on the board quickly, scoring a minute into the game.
Moreno had an opportunity for Ventura (5-5-2, 2-1) on a penalty kick in the 18th minute, but the shot was knocked away by the Bulldog goalkeeper.
Moreno atoned for the miss, scoring an unassisted goal two minutes later to level the count at 1-1.
AHC scored again in the 38th minute when the Pirates missed a clearance on a corner kick and the Pirates trailed 2-1 at intermission.
Hancock took a 3-1 advantage, scoring on a corner kick in the 28th minute, and added another goal in the 78th minute to set the final 4-1 margin.
VC totaled 12 shots during the game with eight on target.
The Pirates next host Los Angeles Pierce COllege on Friday Oct. 10 at 6:00 pm.
