Women's Tennis Falls at College of the Canyons

The VC women's tennis team put up a good fight, but ultimately fell to College of the Canyons 6-3 Tuesday afternoon in Santa Clarita. Sylvie Van Cott continued her dominance in the No. 1 singles position, and Aline Rojas also posted a victory in No. 2 singles. The duo also won their No.1 singles match for the third point for the Pirates (2-2, 1-2).

Van Cott won in No. 1 singles love and love to move her season record to 4-0. Meanwhile Rojas prevailed in her No. 2 singles match, 6-3, 7-5. The pair started the day off on a positive note with an 8-3 triumph in No. 1 doubles.

Allison Jones was a couple of service breaks away in her 6-4, 6-3 loss in No. 3 singles.

Ventura next hosts Bakersfield in Western State Conference action on Thursday Feb. 13. Doubles play is set to begin at 2:00 pm at the VC Tennis Center.
