Daniels Leads Pirates on All-WSC Team
VC Freshman Shai Daniels was named first team All-Western State Conference leading four Pirates who received All-WSC honors as voted upon by the conference coaches. The Buena High School product was joined by second-team All-WSC honoree Talia Behrens and honorable mention award winners Josephine Rausch and Daphne Raymond.

Daniels, a first-year outside hitter, led Ventura with 206 kills on the year, an average of 2.34 kills per set, with a hitting percentage of .215. She also led the team with 292 digs and hit 40 services aces on the season.
Behrens, meanwhile, led the team offensively hitting at a .323 percentage. The sophomore middle from St. Bonaventure High School had 167 kills on the year with an average of 1.82 kills per set. She was also effective at the net with a team-best 674 blocks defensively.
Rausch, a freshman outside hitter from Tehachapi, recorded 143 kills and 144 digs on the year, while missing six matches due to injury. Raymond, a first-year Ventura High School product, had 146 kills from her middle and opposite positions and accumulated 59 blocks at the net defensively.
Ventura finished the year at 16-10 overall, 8-4 in Western State Conference North Division play, finishing in a tie for third place. The advanced to the 3C2A Southern California Regional Playoffs, winning their first round match at home before falling on the road in the second round.
