VC Volleyball Brings Home Signature Win
After a season of knocking on the door against highly-touted opponents, the Pirate volleyball team came home from Santa barbara Friday with its long-sought after signature win, a four-set victory over former conference frontrunner Santa Barbara. Josephine Rausch again had a stellar performance with a 20-kill, 11-dig night while adding five service aces. Shai Daniels recorded 35 digs and Taylor Lane had five blocks in the Pirate triumph.

Josephine Rausch again had a stellar performance with a 20-kill, 11-dig night while adding five service aces. Shai Daniels recorded 35 digs and Taylor Lane had five blocks in the Pirate triumph.
The No. 24-ranked Pirates claimed the first set 25-18 with 13 kills and four aces against three hitting and service errors, combined.
SBCC, who came into the match as the No. 6-ranked team in the state, came back to even the match in the second set, 25-21.
Ventura rebounded in the third set with 15 kills for a 25-20 win.
VC saved the best for last with an epic fourth set. The Pirates totaled 15 kills, four aces and a block to run away from the Vaqueros 25-14 to seal the victory.
Rausch hit at a .362 rate en route to her 20 kills while Madison Mierau recorded 16 winners at the net in the effort with nine digs defensively. Daphne Raymond had eight kills for the orange and black and Addison Olson totaled five winners while hitting .364.
Monaye Ramessar handed out 22 assists wit 11 digs and Valeria Ibarra recorded 20 assists with nine digs.
The Pirates (12-9, 5-5) will next host Allan Hancock on Wednesday Nov. 5 at 6:00 pm.
