Pirates WWPolo falls at SBCC
The VC women's water polo team opened Western State Conference play Wednesday with a 17-10 setback at Santa Barbara City College. Julia Glukhovsky had an outstanding performance with seven goals with six ejections drawn along with one assist and a steal. Abigail Humphry netted a pair of scores with a steal and an ED. Parker Pratt turned back eight Vaquero shots in the cage.

The Pirates led 2-1 after the first quarter on goals by Humphry and Glukhovsky and trailed 5-4 at halftime. SBCC inched ahead in the third period, outscoring the Pirates 6-4, and VC yielded six straight scores in the final stanza to set the final margin.
Audrey Hernandez and Avery Monson each handed out a pair of assists in the game and Bella Bruno had six saves in goal, playing two quarters for the Pirates.
VC next hosts Bakersfield on Wednesday Oct. 1 in a WSC match-up. The first sprint is scheduled for 2:00 pm at the Ventura Aquatic Center.
