The VC men's and women's cross country teams completed their 2022 seasons at the CCCAA State Championships in Fresno on Saturday. The Pirate men finished 12th in the 21-team field while the women came in 16th. Sofia Godina paced the women in 18th place overall while Joshua Weinerth was the top finished for the men in 42nd.

The VC men placed fourth of 11 scoring teams while the women came in sixth of the eight teams in the meet. Joshua Weinerth, Adrian Valdez and Erick Tienda paced the men in seventh, 10th and 11th place, respectively while Sophia Godina came in fourth for the Ventura women to lead the crew.

In the meet hosted by LA Mission College, the Pirate men were fourth of the 10 competing teams led by Adrian Valdez, Ramiro Mateos and Erick Tienda all in the Top-17. Meanwhile Sophia Godina finished third in the women's race to lead Ventura.

The Pirate men finished eight of the 25 participating teams led by Adrian Valdez who finished11th of the 247 runners. The Ventura women had four competitors, led by Sophia Godina who crossed the finish line fourth of the 138 runners, and she was also the top-performing freshman in the field.

In the meet hosted by Sonoma State against primarily four-year competition, the Pirate women were led by freshman Sofia Godia while Adrian Valdez paced the men.
