The Pirate baseball team held off SoCal No. 6-ranked Glendale College 5-4 for a non-conference road win Tuesday afternoon. Junior Sandoval had two hits, including a double, and scored a run while Riley Langerman also had a pair of base knocks. TJ Foreman reached base three times, had two stolen bases and scored two runs. In the process, he set a new school record for career stolen bases and he is closing in on the single-season mark as well.

The VC baseball team used a five-run second inning to propel them to a 10-3 victory over visiting College of the Desert Friday afternoon in non-conference action at Pirate Park. Zane Chittenden delivered the big hit in the decisive frame, a two-out, two-run single, while TJ Foreman continued his strong play with a single and a double, two runs scored and an RBI for Ventura (18-12, 9-5). Tommy Jaimeson picked up the victory on the mound with two scoreless innings of relief following three strong frames from starter Sal Delgado.

It was a wild ride for the VC baseball tea,m Tuesday afternoon at Pirate Park. In a game that featured 22 runs, 23 hits and four lead changes, the Ventura College baseball team ultimately fell to visiting Oxnard 13-9. Zane Chittenden and Junior Sandoval each had three runs batted in and TJ Foreman had three hits and three runs scored in the contest for the Pirates (16-12, 8-5). Despite the loss, VC remains tied for first place in the conference , two games ahead of third place.

For the second game in a row, the Pirate baseball team used a big inningg to break up a pitcher's dual, propeling the team to victory. Thursday, VC (12-8, 4-1) used a six-run seventh inning to break open a 1-1 tie with visiting Moorpark, coasting to the 7-3 win, Ventura's fourth straight triumph. Zane Chittenden delivered the big blow, a 2-RBI double in the seventh as he finished the game with two hits, three runs batted in and a run scored. Brent Dickey picked up the win with a scoreless inning of relief in support of Jackson Hickert, who pitched six complete, giving up one run on five hits.

The Pirate baseball team rebounded to end a three game skid with a 10-4 victory over visiting Santa Barbara City College on Friday at Pirate Park. Aj Medrano had three runs batted in and Gabe Baldovino recorded three hits to lead Ventura (9-8, 1-1) while Travis Weston was a stabilizing force out of the bullpen, pitching four scoreless innings, limiting the Vaqueros to two hits and striking out five to pick up the victory.

The Pirate baseball team scored three runs in the top of the eighth inning to tie the game at Riverside at 4-4 Wednesday afternoon only to have the Tigers walk off in the bottom of the ninth with a 5-4 victory. AJ Medrano had a pair of hits, including a double and scored two runs while Brian Guy also had two hits with a double, and two runs batted in. Gabe Baldovino knocked out two doubles and Junior Sandoval had a pair of singles with an RBI for Ventura (7-5).

The skies cleared and the sun came out Saturday. It was a great day for baseball as the Pirates hosted Monterey Peninsula for a twin bill at Pirate Park. The Lobos took game one 9-3 before VC came back to post an 8-1 victory in the nightcap. Junior Sandoval paced the Ventura (5-3) at the plate with four hits on the day, including a 2-run home run in the second game. Steele Ledford and Gabe Baldovino each recorded three hits on the day as VC retained the "Battle of the Beach" traveling trophy for the annual series.

The Pirate baseball team scored five runs in the final three innings to turn a 5-1 deficit into a 6-5 walk-off victory over visiting Victor Valley Tuesday in VC's 2019 home opener. AJ Medrano and Hunter Klingelhoffer homered in the seventh and eighth innings, respectively, and Zane Chittenden had a 1-out RBI single in the bottom of the ninth to walk off the Rams. Sal Delgado pitched a scoreless ninth inning to pick up the victory for the Pirates (1-2).
