Pierce managed to score the first two buckets of the game, but it was all VC after that as the Pirates went on a 12-0 run to take control of the game. Wigington hit a three and Smith made a pair of free throws on back-to-back possessions to give Ventura the lead. Wigington and Bellamy followed with two more triples and Bellamy made charity shot for the 12-4 margin with 17:31 left in the first half.
The Pirates consistently built their lead as Kam'Ron Cigar's lay-up with 10:11 on the clock made it 30-11. Wilson's dunk at the 1:40 mark pushed Ventura to a 51-28 advantage as VC held a 60-34 lead at intermission.
The second half was more of the same for Ventura. Wigington's three stretched the lead to 30 points, 68-38, and Tong Tog scored inside for an 81-41 advantage with 14:19 left to play. Tong then made a three at the 7:35 mark to push the Pirates past the century mark and Sergio Delano's 3-pointer made it 110-60 at the 5:14 mark.
VC shot nearly 63 percent from the floor for the game (47-75) and made 12 of 16 3-point attempts (46%). They were also a phenomenal 18-19 at the free throw line in the game and outrebounded the Brahmas 41-22.
Ventura, who sits atop the Western State Conference North Division standings, will next travel to second-place Moorpark on Wednesday Feb. 4. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00 pm.
