Shelby Jackson highlighted the final day of the Western State Conference championships with a new school record in the 200-yard butterfly as Ventura's women's swimming and diving team placed third and the men finished seventh in the three-day affair at LA Valley. Jackson broke the record in her morning qualifier and claimed second in the finals for the women's best finish of the day while Carlos Gonzalez led the men for the third consecutive day.

Ventura's Allison Donnelly set a new school record in the 400-yard individual medley to highlight day two of the Western State Conference Championships at LA Valley. Her third place finish in the event was the best individual performance for the Pirate women while Carlos Gonzalez once again led the VC men touching in seventh place in the same event. Ventura's women remained third in the standings and the men were seventh after the second of three days of competition.

Swim & Dive Competes at WSC #3, PCC Invite

Ventura's men's and women's swimming and diving teams bookended Spring Break with the Western State Conference #3 meet at Canyons March 31 followed by the Pasadena Invitational April 6-7. The Pirates women finished first in the WSC competition, defeating three other WSC foes as both squads posted some impressive numbers in each meet. Allison Donnelly and Allison Harris have led the VC women while Carlos Gonzalez has been solid for the Pirate men.

The Ventura College men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed at the Western State Conference No. 2 meet at Los Angeles Valley Saturday with the women placing third and the men fifth overall. Pirate divers paces both teams winning all four diving events. Ayden Jacobs claimed two golds for the men with wins in the 1m and 3m diving events while Allison Harris won the 1m and Kendal Santos claimed the 3m diving competition.

The VC women's swimming and diving team finished third of nine teams at the Riverside Invitational held Friday and Saturday March 10-11. The Pirate men were seventh as a team in the two-day meet. Allison Harris led the women with a pair of gold medals in the 1m and 3m diving events and Allison Donnelly had four individual Top-6 finishes. Carlos Gonzalez and Michael Andrews led the Ventura men.

Swimming & Diving Opens Season in Larry Baratte WSC Preview

The Pirates' men's and women's swimming and diving teams opened their 2023 seasons at the Larry baratte Western State Conference Preview at the Ventura Aquatic Center. VC's women placed third overall and the men came in sixth in the meet named for the late Hall of Fame Ventura College swim coach. VC's trio of women divers, Kendal Santos, Allison Harris and Lauren Pierce, along with Michael Andrews and Ayden Jacobus for the men had strong season debuts, as did Shelby Jackson and Allison Donnelly for the women and Carlos Gonzalez for the men.
