VC's Thomas Shea Qualifies for State in 1m and 3m Diving

VC's Thomas Shea had an outstanding two day in Long Beach, qualifying for the 3C2A State Championships in both the 1m and 3m diving events at the Southern California Diving Championships. The freshman finished seventh overall in the 3m competition and 10th in the 1m event to make state. He also came in third and fourth, respectively, in the concurrent Western State Conference Championships. Meanwhile, Brayden Black also qualified for state with an eighth-place finish in the 1m diving event, good for third in the WSC.

Pirate Swimmers Dominate Relays in Strong Showing

Ventura College's men's and women's swimming and diving teams dominated the relays at the three-day Pasadena Invitational, wit the men running away with a first place finish and the women coming in a strong second in the team competition. Jaiden Monroe posted the fastest time this season in the state in winning the 100-yard backstroke and the men and women both won all five relays in their respective competitions.

Pirate Men and Women Both 3rd at WSC #2

The Pirates' men's and women's swimming and diving teams both came in third of nine teams at the Western State Conference No. 2 meet at Santa Monica Saturday. Jaiden Monroe paced the men's team with three gold medal swims while Olivia Badaracco added a first- and a second-place finish to her individual accomplishments. VC's 400-yard medley relay team of Nick Santander, Michael Ramirez, Luigi Travi and Monroe also claimed a first-place finish.

Pirate Men and Women Each First at WSC #1 Meet

Ventura College's men's and women's swimming and diving teams each finished first Friday at the Western State Conference No. 1 meet at Los Anglees Valley. Jaiden Monroe led the VC men with three individual golds and Olivia Badaracco finished first twice to lead the women. The Pirate men totaled 234 points to run away from second place Valley with 131 while the women earned 152 points, edging out the Monarchs with 148.
