Pirates Jaiden Monroe and Olivia Badaracco both had an outstanding weekend at the 3C2A State Championships in Santa Rosa. The pair each medalled in two individual races during the three-day event while each also earned team points in another. Additionally, they each swam legs on three men's or women's relay teams, respectively, that also scored for the Pirates in the championships. Badaracco highlighted her performance with two school records in the 100- and 200-yard backstroke races.
The VC men's and women's swimming and Diving teams each finished third at the Western State Conference Championships held Thursday through Saturday at Santa Monica. Jaiden Monroe won three individual golds for the Ventura men, including a record-setting performance in the 100-yard butterfly to earn WSC Male Athlete of the Year honors. Olivia Badaracco also won an individual gold with two silver medals for the Pirate women.
Ventura College's men's and women's swimming and diving teams dominated the relays at the three-day Pasadena Invitational, wit the men running away with a first place finish and the women coming in a strong second in the team competition. Jaiden Monroe posted the fastest time this season in the state in winning the 100-yard backstroke and the men and women both won all five relays in their respective competitions.
The VC men's and women's swimming and diving teams each finished second Friday at the Western State Conference No. 3 meet at Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria. Jaiden Monroe led the men with a apir of gold medals and a silver while Olivia Badaracco claimed three individual third-place finishes.
The Pirates' men's and women's swimming and diving teams both came in third of nine teams at the Western State Conference No. 2 meet at Santa Monica Saturday. Jaiden Monroe paced the men's team with three gold medal swims while Olivia Badaracco added a first- and a second-place finish to her individual accomplishments. VC's 400-yard medley relay team of Nick Santander, Michael Ramirez, Luigi Travi and Monroe also claimed a first-place finish.
The VC women's swimming and diving team placed third and the men came in fourth Friday and Saturday at the Riverside Invitational. Olivia Badaracco led the women with three individual golds and a bronze while Alex Williams struck gold twice. Jaiden Monroe had the men's team only first place finish and he also had an invidudual runner-up finish.
The Ventrua College men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed well Friday and Saturday at the Mt. San Antonio Invitational wit hthe men placing sixth of 19 teams and the women coming in ninth of 21 schools. Jaiden Monroe was the top scorer for the men with four Top-7 finishes while Olivia Badaracco led the women with VC's lone gold of the meet.

The Pirate men totaled 234 points to run away from second place Valley with 131 while the women earned 152 points, edging out the Monarchs with 148.
