Yannick Garcia Signs With Middle Georgia State College

Sophomore women's tennis player Yannick Garcia has signed a scholarship to continue her academic and athletic careers at Middle Goergia State College, an NAIA school in Cochra, Ga. Garcia, who came to VC from Seraozinho, SP, Brasil was 14-4 this past year in singles, advancing to the Western State Conference semifinals. She was a WSC finalist as a freshman.

Garcia & Sindle Put Up Fight Against Top Seed at State

Yannick Garcia and Bailey Sindle put up a great fight Friday against the top seed in the women's doubles draw at the CCCAA State Championships at The Ojai Tournament. Katy Scheck and Jia Weibe also met the end of their season in the round of 32 Friday afternoon, closing the books on the Pirates' 2015 women's tennis season.

Pirate freshman Bailey Sindle, along with partner Yannick Garcia, advanced to the Round of 32 in the CCCAA State Doubles Championships, and also advanced to the round of 64 in singles before falling.
Pirate Doubles Teams Survive First Day at Ojai

VC's two doubles teams of Yannick Garcia and Bailey Sindle, and Katy Scheck and Jia Wiebe both survived the first day of the CCCAA State Championships held at The Ojai Tournament Thursday, advancing into the round of 32 for Friday's matches. Meanwhile, both Garcia and Sindle were eliminated from singles competition at The Ojai.

Garcia and Sindle Fall in WSC Semifinals

The run for the Ventura College women's tennis team's top doubles duo of Yannick Garcia and Bailey Sindle came to an end Friday as the pair fell in the Western State Conference semifinals at the VC Tennis Center. No. 3-seed Garcia and Sindle lost 6-4, 6-2 to the No. 2 team from Glendale College.

Four Pirates Qualify for Ojai at WSC Championships

Four Pirates qualified for the CCCAA State Championships to be held at the Ojai Tournament later this month in competition Saturday at the Western State Conference Singles and Doubles Championships Saturday at the VC Tennis Center. The doubles team of Yannick Garcia and Bailey Sindle have advanced to the conference semifinals in doubles to be held on Friday April 11.

Bailey Sindle advanced to the quarterfinals of the WSC singles championships, and teamed up with Yannick Garcia to make it to the round of eight in doubles on day one of the WSC Championships at Camino Real Park Friday.
Sindle and Garcia Advance to Round of 8 for VC Women

No. 3 seed Yannick Garcia and No. 10 seed Bailey Sindle both advanced to the quarterfinals of the Western State Conference Women's Singles Championships on Friday, and teamed up as the No. 3 seed in doubles to reach the round of eight, as well.

Sophomore Katy Scheck won her No. 1 singles match and won in No. 2 double with Jia Wiebe as Ventura swept Bakersfield 9-0 to finish the regular season on Tuesday.
WTennis Ends Regular Season With Sweep

The Pirates' women's tennis team ended the regular season with a 9-0 sweep at Bakersfield College Tuesday afternoon. VC dropped just four games the entire match against the Renegades in finishing the year at 7-6 overall and 5-5 in Western State Conference play.

Chelsea Peterson came from behind to win in No. 6 singles to help propel the Pirates to a 5-4 win at Santa Monica on Thursday afternoon.
Pirate Tennis Wins Over Defending Champs

The VC women's tennis team has been on the verge of a big win, and Thursday they got in in Santa Monica against the defending Western State Conference champions. Chelsea Peterson came back from 4-6, 1-4 down to win in No. 6 singles, and Katy Scheck and Jia Weibe overcame a 5-7 deficit, winning 16 of the final 17 points to post a 9-7 victroy in No. 2 doubles to clinch the match.

VC Upset Bid Falls Short against Glendale

The Pirates' women's tennis team gave it a valiant fight, but they were unable to upend conference leading Glendale College, falling 6-3 to the Vaqueros Tuesday afternoon at the VC Tennis Center. Yannick Garcia (No. 2), Bailey Sindle (No. 3) and Jia Wiebe (No. 4) all had singles victories for Ventura.

Pirates Fall at SBCC in Grueling Match

In a match that took nearly five hours to complete, the Pirates' women's tennis team fell 6-3 to visiting Santa Barbara at the VC Tennis Center Thursday. Yannick Garcia won in No. 1 singles and in No. 1 doubles with Bailey Sindle while Candace Nito won a three-set match in No. 5 singles.

Freshman Jia Wiebe won her No. 3 singles match love and love, and won in No. 2 doubles 8-2 with Katy Scheck as VC defeated Antelope Valley 8-2 Tuesday afternoon in Lancaster.
Women's Tennis Wins Big in the High Desert

Traveling to the high desert of Lancaster, the Pirates' women's tennis team came home with a solid 8-1 decision over Antelope Valley College Tuesday afternoon. Yannick Garcia, Jia Wiebe, Candace Nito and Chelsea Peterson all swept their singles matches love and love against the Marauders.

Bailey Sindle earned a point with a win in No. 4 singles, but VC lost to visiting Cerritos 7-2 Friday afternoon at the VC Tennis Center.
Pirate Women Fall at Home to Cerritos

The Ventura College women's tennis team fell to visiting Cerritos College 7-2 Friday afternoon at the VC Tennis Center in a non-conference match. Bailey Sindle and Chelsea Peterson posted victories in theit Nos. 4 and 6 singles matches, respectively, to score for the Pirates.

Chelsea peterson won in No. 6 singles Tuesday, helping the Pirates to a 9-0 sweep of visiting Bakersfield.
Women's Tennis Back on Winning Track

The Ventura College women's tennis team completed the first round of Western State Conference play with a dominating 9-0 win over visiting Bakersfield College Tuesday afternoon at the VC Tennis Center. In nine matches, six singles and three doubles, the Pirates lost just three games the entire afternoon in the win.

Candice Nito won her No. 5 singles match, but the Pirates fell to visiting Santa Monica 7-2 in action Thursday at the VC Tennis Center.
Women's Tennis Falls to Santa Monica

The Pirates' women's tennis team fell to visiting Santa Monica College Thursday at the VC Tennis Center, 7-2. Candace Nito earned a point for VC in No. 5 singles while Katy Scheck and Jia Wiebe won in No. 2 doubles.

Bailey Sindle won her first set in No. 3 singles tuesday at Glendale before falling 10-8 in a third-set tiebreaker.  The Pirates were topped by the Vaqueros 9-0.

The Ventura College women's tennis team fell at Western State Conference leading Glendale College Tuesday, 9-0. Bailey Sindle was the only Pirate to take a set, winning her first set at No. 3 singles, before falling in a third-set tiebreaker, 10-8. Jia Weibe and Katy Scheck also dropped a close match in No. 2 doubles, 8-6.

Tennis Drops Hard-Fought Conference Match

It took nearly four-and-a-half hours to complete, and when it was done, the Pirates' women's tennis team came out on the short end of a 6-3 decision at Santa Barbara City College Thursday afternoon. Yannick Garcia (No. 1) and Bailey Sindle (No. 3) won points in singles while the doubles duo of Jia Weibe and Katy Scheck won in No. 2 doubles.
