Pirates close regular season with win
The Pirate volleyball team closed the regular season with a three-set sweep at Antelope Valley Friday evening in their Western State Conference crossover. Josephine Rausch again led VC with 12 kills and nine digs and Madison Mierau recorded eight winners. Shai Daniels had eight digs and three service aces in the road win.

Ventura came in with 15 kills in the opening set, capturing the early lead 25-18 over the Marauders.
The Pirates' serve added three aces in the second set with VC taking a 2-0 lead in the match, 25-16.
The third set was more competitive with VC requiring 13 kills and three aces to take a 25-21 set win to clinch the victory.
Callie Cahill recorded six kills in the match while Daphne Raymond and Addison Olson each added four winners. Monaye Ramessar had 18 assists and a pair of aces while Valeria Ibarra handed out 14 assists. Sadie Lishman had a solid defensive outing with eight digs and Ibarra added six.
Ventura (16-9) now awaits its playoff seeding with the first round beginning Saturday Nov. 22.
