Bese Sets School Record on Final Day of State

Adrianna Bese set a new school record in the 200-yard breast stroke on Saturday, highlighting the final day of competition at the CCCAA State Championships at De Anza College in Cupertino. The sophomore touched in 2:28.23, good for eighth place and the new school mark. Gracelyn De La Cruz also earned individual points for the VC women, who finished 11th overall, and Cooper Fuchs led the Pirate men with his third top performance o fthe three-day meet. The Ventura men came in ninth place in the championships.

Pirate Men 2nd, Women 6th as WSC Championships Wrap Up

The Ventura College men's swimming and diving team finished a strong second, and the Pirate women finished sixth at the Western State Conference Championships completed Saturday in Santa Clarita. Cooper Fuchs came in a close second in the 100-yard freestyle and anchored the come-from-behind victory in the 400-yard freestyle relay to lead the men while Hunter Massey earned silver in the 1650-yard swim. Adrianna Bese, Gracelyn De La Cruz and the 400-yard freestyle relay all earned silver medals for the women.

Piate Swimmers Continue with Strong Performances at WSC Championships

On day two of the three-day Western State Conference Championships in Santa Clarita, the Pirates' men's and women's swimming and diving teams continued to post strong performances. Cooper Fuchs led the charge wonce again with his second individual gold in the 100-yard backstroke and also helped Kevin Smallwood, Marcel Hurtubise and Tobias Hynes to a runner-up finish in the 200-yard medley relay. For he women, Alli Hopkins earned silver in the 100-yard butterfly while Adrianna Bese and Gracelyn De La Cruz had personal-best times in the 100-yard breast stroke and backstroke events, respectively.

VC Swimmers Compete at Pasadena Invitational

The Ventura College men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed at the Pasadena Invitational on Saturday, with the VC divers taking to the pool on Thursday of the three-day meet. Despite the abbreviated competition schedule, the Pirates posted some highlight-worthy performances. Izaiah Martinez claimed third in the 3m diving event, followed by Rawley Mathis in fifth while Cooper Fuchs was fourth in the 100-yard freestyle. Adrianna Bese, Kaitlin Reagan and Aryanna Martinez all earned points as individuals for the VC women.

VC Swim Competes at 34th Annual Mt. SAC Invitational

The Ventura College men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed at the 34th Annual mt. SAC Invitational in Walnut, with the divers competing on Thursday and the swimmers making the trek to Walnut on Saturday. Deon Crilly posted a pair of silver medal performances in diving while Cooper Fuchs led the swimmers with an individual second and third place, respectively. Alli Hopkins and Adrianna Bese each had individual seventh place finished to lead the VC women.

Pirate Swimmers Open Season at WSC Pentathlon

The Ventura College men's and women's swimming and diving teams opened the 2019 season Friday on a picture perfect morning at the Ventura Aquatic Center. Cooper Fuchs led the VC men with four top-10 finishes while Marcel Hurtubise and Tobias Hynes also produced a pair of top-10 performances. For the women, Alli Hopkins and Gracelyn De La Cruz both had two top-10 finishes.
